CloakMeHow to set up the AI receptionist on a number
The AI receptionist answers calls to one of your CloakMe numbers, follows your instructions, takes messages and, with FlashElves connected, books meetings on your real free time.
Step by step
- 1Open the number
Go to My Numbers and choose the number.
- 2Turn on AI
In the AI assistant card, switch on AI calling (“Use AI for calls addressed to this number”).
- 3Open AI setup
Choose Open AI setup.
- 4Choose who answers
Under “When other people call”, choose AI receptionist. Choose Ring my phone normally to keep calls going to your iPhone and voicemail.
- 5Choose what it can do
Under “What your AI can do”, switch on the tools you want: Make calls, Search the web and Communicate with FlashElves (when installed).
- 6Write the instructions
In Receptionist instructions, describe in plain words how calls should be handled: the name to answer as, what to book, what to ask for, what counts as urgent. Restore recommended brings back the default text.
- 7Save
Choose Save changes. New calls to the number use the new settings.
Good to know
- The AI assistant is in early access. If you don't see AI settings, write to support@cloakme.io to have it turned on for your account.
- If a caller asks whether they are talking to an AI, it says yes. It wraps up politely and hangs up when the call is done.
- Switch AI calling off at any time: calls then ring your phone normally and your saved AI settings are kept.
